Artist's Comments

This guy was really into his performance. Believe this was near Union Sqare, on one of the days of the NYC Meet. We were moving, so I had to grab this fast, and keep my feet going. Think I go the focus on his chest rather than face.

Heh.

For being on the move this is great. I love candid shot like this. He is so full of happiness, and I feel like I am right there with you, hearing the sounds of the islands. :)

I like the focus where it is--it really shows how into the performance he was, and it brings us closer to where the music is (I could be corny and say his heart, but I won't . . . oh wait, I just did;)). I really like the angle, too, because it makes the shot more dynamic.

photography like this is why I love shooting in NYC. I took a bunch such as this, as I was walking by someone or something. Either I couldn't stop or my shy small town personality was to afriad to let them be aware I was taking a photo. Shots like these are the best because, the subject has no idea so you catch them in an organic expression/pose. i love it, great work.

This is an awesome photograph. It looks like it should be on a post card somewhere. I think you're right, you did get the focus on his chest rather than his face, but I think it looks better that way than it could have any other way. You caught so much movement with the photo, and it's so real. The border doesn't seem to fit with the picture very nicely, though. I think it may be the way the white hat hits the white border. Maybe if the white was seperated from the picture by just a thin black line... It looks great, though. Definitely some good work. :)

I can't believe you puked in my love.

To suppress art because it makes one think is to suppress thought itself.

Great job caputuring the energy and movement of the drummer. The pattern of his shirt adds to the movement captured from the motion blur. It's a shame his eyes aren't a little more well-lit to capture his expression. Again the tilted compositon adds to the illusion of movement. Nice work.

NEH! screw it !!!!

Eww, you're one of those 'thin black border' people!
:fear:
=p

No, really though, I dunno. Every time I use one, people complain, and I never feel comfortable with it. I might just strip the border altogether since you are right, though.

Thanks.
